Six Steps to Creat a Wordpress Auto updateing Website with Autoblogging
Auto updating websites are a great way to start on the internet as they are relatively easy to set up. Once set up they have many uses which the webmaster can leverage to make an income.
If you haven’t got one already you need to start buiding your portfolio of Autoblogs. Find out more about the Wordpress Autoblog website and a step by step guide on how it is done on the Wordpress Autoblog site below.
1) Web Hosting
First off all, you need good web hosting for Wordpress. I recommend going with a web host that has a cPanel, as it is easy to install Wordpress using Fantastico (a function in the cPanel).
Yes, you could also go with free web hosting, but I don’t recommend that, as Wordpress requires a database to work and even the best free web hosts have problems with this (this was my own experience with Freehostia.com, I then went for paid hosting).
2) Install Wordpress
I recommend installing Wordpress using the one-click WP installation feature with Fantastico in the cPanel. You can check out this tutorial on how to Install Wordpress Using Fantastico. It’s really easy and quick, easier that you might thought.
3) Upload a Wordpress Template
Find a nice Wordpress theme for your website and just upload it to the wp-content/themes/ folder. Then activate it in the WP admin panel – in Presentation -> Themes.
For good Wordpress themes I recommend you to check out my own themes on my premium Wordpress Themes site wpmix.com (I’m a Wordpress themes designer). I hope you like them.
4) Modify the Theme
After you’ve found a theme that you’re happy with (assuming you didn’t write it from scratch) you’ll probably want to customize it a bit.
Note: Backup the files of your theme before editing it, so that you have the original files in case you do something wrong.
5) Plugin download and install
Plugins can extend WordPress to do almost anything you can imagine. There are three ways of installing a WordPress plugin:
1. Automatically through WordPress – easiest, some server setup
2. Manually uploading a plugin through WordPress – medium, some server setup
3. Manually uploading a plugin via FTP – more complicated, no server setup
6) Here comes the most important part: configure autoblog plugin. Just like any other WordPress plugin, upload it to WordPress plugins directory, activate inside admin panel and simply configure some options such as:
how many articles to post each day , Select the ArticlesBase category to get content.which category on your blog to post, etc.
Some plugins also provide features such asRandom time posting and filter keywords.
In summary, a good autoblog should not look any different from a normal blog. It is a blog which requires an RSS feed source, from which it will pull content and automatically update, it doesn’t look from the outside any different to a normal blog.
